Saying goodbye does not exist

People come and go.

Especially on an island like Bonaire, moving overseas is a drastic operation. In the years that I have lived here, I have experienced very often, that we were able to welcome people and had to wave them goodbye again. Farewell is part of it, if you live here.

I made this watercolor on the occasion of the farewell party of friends, who moved to the Netherlands. A sweet couple with a small girl and three dogs. I made a dreamy image with seaweed on standing tables.

I dream on in my hammock.. Thinking back to the beautiful moments we experienced together and the bright future my friends choose. To be able to capture that feeling, while day-dreaming, in an image, those are moments of happiness for me.
